ADVENTURE SAFARI IN THE NORTHERN Tanzania (C)

Day 1

ARUSHA

You will be met upon your arrival in JRO; and transfer to Hotel in Arusha.

Day 2

ARUSHA - TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, leave Arusha drive to Tarangire National Park with picnic lunch; the park is spectacular and it is well known for its large herds of Elephant population. Later in the late afternoon leave and drive to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast leave for more game drives in Tarangire, Spend the day exploring the park. Lunch at the lodge or as picnic in the park. Later, drive to the lodge for clients to relax and overnight.

Day 4 - 5

LAKE MANYARA - LAKE EYASI

After breakfast, we leave with packed lunch and go for a game drive in Lake Manyara; The Park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, elephants, hippos and colorful birds, Alternative (instead of game drive safari in Manyara): After breakfast, we drive to nearby Mto wa Mbu area (4+ miles from Manyara Park’s gate) to do an approximately two hour cultural tour which will include visiting banana or rice plantations as well as a walking safari with traditional healers who will explain the medicinal values of the indigenous plants. We will leave in the afternoon and drive to Lake Eyasi for dinner and overnight.

Day 6

LAKE EYASI - NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA

Early in the morning after breakfast, we will leave with parked lunch and drive to day tour at Lake Eyasi, to meet the indigenous tribe known as the ‘Hadzabe’ (hunter-gatherer Bushmen). The tribe inhabits the shores of Lake Eyasi as do the Nilotic-speaking Datoga tribe. You will visit these tribes, which will include a visit to their homesteads, learn about their way of life, animal tracking, medicinal plants, and much more. The Bushmen rely on these techniques to survive, you will get an opportunity to go with them to hunt and they will demonstrate their use of locally made poisons in incapacitating the poor creatures on which they depend for survival. Later in the day leave and drive to Ngorongoro for dinner and overnight.

Day 7

NGORONGORO AREA

After breakfast, leave with picnic lunch and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater exploring the short grass plains of the largest intact caldera in the world. The crater enjoys its enduring charm stems from the overwhelming physical beauty and the abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor. This extinct volcano embraces 100sq miles alive with lions, leopard, rhino, elephant, buffalo, and many games, then later in the late afternoon leave the crater and drive to the lodge on the crater rim for dinner and overnight.

Day 8

NGORONGORO - SERENGETI

After breakfast, we leave Ngorongoro with picnic lunch for an en-route game drive to central Serengeti. Afternoon game drive in the Serengeti searching for large predators and the gentle herbivores on which they feed.

Day 9

SERENGETI

After breakfast, we leave with picnic lunch for a full day game drive in central Serengeti searching for large predators and the gentle herbivores on which they feed in the rolling plains of Serengeti Savannah. The Park contains the largest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, on a scale, which has no parallel anywhere in the world.  There is abundance of herbivores. Serengeti is also famous for lions and contains a wide variety of bird life, believed to be in the region of 350 species, and with good chances also of seeing the predators at work. Lunch at the lodge/camp or as a picnic lunch while on game drive.

Day 10

SERENGETI

After breakfast, we leave with picnic lunch for a full day game drive towards Northern Serengeti searching for large predators and the gentle herbivores on which they feed in the rolling plains of Serengeti Savannah. The Park contains the largest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, on a scale, which has no parallel anywhere in the world.  There is abundance of herbivores. Serengeti is also famous for lions and contains a wide variety of bird life, believed to be in the region of 350 species, and with good chances also of seeing the predators at work. Day 11 -12

SERENGETI NORTH

After breakfast, we leave with picnic towards northern Serengeti searching for large predators and the gentle herbivores on which they feed in the rolling plains of Serengeti Savannah. The Park contains the largest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, on a scale, which has no parallel anywhere in the world.  There is abundance of herbivores. Serengeti is also famous for lions and contains a wide variety of bird life, believed to be in the region of 350 species, and with good chances also of seeing the predators at work.

Day 13

SERENGETI - ARUSHA / DEPARTURE

After breakfast leave with picnic lunch for another game drive in Serengeti and then transfer to Kogatende Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Arusha, met upon arrival transfer to the lodge in town for lunch and day room, then later in the day pick you up and proceed to Kilimanjaro airport [JRO] for your 8:00pm flight back home.
