JRO → Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro airport. Meet your personal representative and transfer to your luxury lodge in Arusha. Relax by the pool, enjoy a welcome dinner, and prepare for the adventure ahead. Overnight at Arusha Planet Lodge (BB).
Machame Gate → Machame Camp
After breakfast, drive to Machame Gate (1,800m). Begin trek through lush montane forest, alive with colobus monkeys and birdlife. Arrive at Machame Camp (3,010m) for your first night under canvas. (B,L,D)
Machame Camp → Shira Camp
Ascend through heath and moorland, with giant lobelias and senecios. Spectacular views of Kibo and Mount Meru. Settle into Shira Camp (3,840m). (B,L,D)
Shira Camp → Barranco Camp
Traverse the high desert, cross the Lava Tower (4,600m) for acclimatisation, then descend into the lush Barranco Valley. Camp beneath the towering Barranco Wall. (B,L,D)
Barranco Camp → Barafu Camp
Climb the Barranco Wall (non‑technical), then traverse the Karanga Valley. Finally ascend to Barafu Camp (4,673m), your base for summit night. Rest and prepare. (B,L,D)
Barafu → Uhuru Peak → Mweka Camp
Start around midnight: steep ascent to Stella Point (5,756m), then continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – the roof of Africa! Descend to Mweka Camp (3,100m) for a well‑earned rest. (B,L,D)
Mweka Camp → Mweka Gate → Arusha
Descend through forest to Mweka Gate. Receive your summit certificate. Transfer back to Arusha, where a hot shower and soft bed await. (B,L)
Transfer to Kilimanjaro airport
After breakfast, transfer to JRO for your flight home – or extend your journey with a luxury safari or Zanzibar beach escape. (B)

- • Porter pack weight limit: 15kg (35lbs). Extra porter $8/day for overweight.
- • Extra luggage can be stored at your Arusha hotel (valuables on receipt).
- • Arrive a day earlier to acclimate: add $80 single / $100 double / $150 triple (BB).
- • Optional Arusha NP day trip: $180pp (2+ pax), plus $35 for hiking.
