Kigali to Ruhengeri
Morning or mid‑afternoon arrival at Kigali International Airport. Your representative meets you for a scenic 2.5‑hour drive through winding roads to Ruhengeri, with its stunning backdrop of the five Virunga volcanoes. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
First gorilla trek
Morning breakfast, then transfer to park headquarters for a briefing. Trek through bamboo forests to find a habituated gorilla family. One hour of intimate viewing. Return to lodge for lunch, dinner, and overnight.
Different family, deeper connection
A second trek to a different gorilla group maximizes viewing and photographic opportunities. After the trek, a leisurely drive back to Kigali. Check into your hotel for the night.
Departure
Depending on your flight, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial – a powerful and poignant experience. Then transfer to the airport for your homeward flight.
