1. Booking & deposit
A deposit of 30% of the total safari cost is required to confirm your booking. The deposit can be paid by bank transfer, credit card (Visa/Mastercard), or online payment link. The remaining balance is due 60 days before departure. For bookings made within 60 days of travel, full payment is required at the time of booking.
- Deposit secures your vehicle, guide, and accommodation.
- All payments are in USD or equivalent TZS at prevailing rate.
- Bank transfer fees are the responsibility of the client.
2. Cancellation & refunds
Cancellations must be received in writing (email). Refunds are calculated based on the date we receive your notice:
Full refund minus admin fee ($100)
50% refund of total
25% refund of total
No refund
* For force majeure (COVID, natural disasters) we offer credit for future travel, valid 2 years.
3. Changes by client
If you wish to change your itinerary after confirmation, we will do our best to accommodate. Changes may incur additional costs (park fees, accommodation upgrades). A $50 amendment fee applies for administrative changes requested less than 30 days before departure.
4. Changes by operator
In rare cases (e.g., park closures, weather, political unrest) we may need to modify or cancel a safari. We will offer an alternative itinerary of equal value, or a full refund. Safari To Remember is not liable for any additional expenses incurred (flights, hotels) due to such changes.
5. Travel insurance
Mandatory: All clients must have comprehensive travel insurance covering medical evacuation, trip cancellation, baggage loss, and personal liability. We require proof of insurance before departure. We recommend insurance that covers COVID-19 related disruptions.
6. Health & fitness
You are responsible for assessing your own fitness for safari and/or trekking. For Kilimanjaro climbs, a medical certificate may be required. Inform us of any pre-existing medical conditions (allergies, heart conditions, pregnancy) before booking. Our guides carry first aid kits but are not doctors.
7. Liability & responsibility
Safari To Remember acts as an organizer and intermediary for services (lodges, transport, guides). We select suppliers carefully but are not liable for any injury, loss, damage, delay, or irregularity caused by third parties. Clients agree to follow guide instructions — failure to do so releases us from liability.
8. Photography & marketing
We may take photos during your safari for promotional use (website, social media). If you prefer not to be photographed, please notify us in writing. You retain full rights to your personal photos.
9. Complaints
If you have a concern during your safari, please inform your guide or our local representative immediately so we can resolve it on the spot. Post-trip complaints must be submitted within 30 days of your return; we will investigate and respond.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Arusha, Tanzania.
“Hakuna Matata — but we take our contract seriously.”
By booking with Safari To Remember, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
