🦁 What is the best time of year for a safari?
+
The dry season (late June to October) offers excellent game viewing as animals gather near water sources. The wildebeest migration peaks from July to September with dramatic river crossings. The green season (November–May) provides lush scenery, fewer crowds, and exceptional birdwatching — plus calving season (February–March) in Ndutu. We help you choose based on your priorities.
🦁 Will I see the Big Five?
+
Tanzania is home to lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino (black rhino are present in Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti). While sightings depend on luck and season, our expert guides know the best habitats. Leopards are elusive but our trackers are skilled. We maintain ethical distances and never chase animals.
🦁 What is the Great Migration?
+
The Great Migration is the continuous movement of over 1.5 million wildebeest and zebras across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. Calving season (January–March) is in southern Serengeti/Ndutu. From July–October, the herds cross the Mara River in the north — one of nature's most dramatic events. We position you at the right place for your travel dates.
⛰️ How difficult is Kilimanjaro?
+
Kilimanjaro is a high-altitude trek, not a technical climb. Anyone with good fitness, determination, and proper acclimatization can summit. We use the "pole pole" (slowly) approach with extra acclimatization days. Our success rate exceeds 95% — we carry oxygen, pulse oximeters, and have experienced guides.
⛰️ Can I rent gear for Kilimanjaro?
+
Yes, you can rent high-quality gear (down jackets, sleeping bags, trekking poles) from us — all cleaned and sanitized. Bring broken-in boots, moisture-wicking layers, and a headlamp. See our trekking gear page for full details.
⛰️ What about altitude sickness?
+
Our itineraries are designed for gradual ascent. Guides monitor your oxygen levels and symptoms daily. We carry emergency oxygen and follow strict protocols. Diamox (acetazolamide) can be prescribed by your doctor — discuss before travel.
📋 How do I book a safari?
+
Simply contact us via email or the enquiry form. We'll discuss your interests, budget, and travel dates, then send a custom itinerary and invoice. A 30% deposit secures your booking.
📋 Can I customize the itinerary?
+
Absolutely. All our safaris are private and tailored. You choose parks, accommodation style (luxury, mid-range, camping), activities, and duration. We adjust the pace to your liking — no fixed groups.
💵 What payment methods do you accept?
+
We accept bank wire transfers (USD), credit card (Visa/Mastercard) via secure link (2% fee), and cash on arrival in Arusha (USD or TZS) — no fee.
💵 What is your cancellation policy?
+
Cancellations must be in writing. Refunds: 60+ days (full minus $100 fee), 30–59 days (50%), 15–29 days (25%), under 14 days (no refund). Force majeure (COVID, natural disasters) eligible for future travel credit.
🛂 Do I need a visa for Tanzania?
+
Most nationalities require a tourist visa. You can apply online (eVisa) or get a visa on arrival at the airport (USD 50, cash). We recommend the eVisa to save time. Passport must be valid 6 months.
🛂 Can I visit both Tanzania and Kenya?
+
Yes, multi-country itineraries are possible. You'll need either a multiple-entry visa for Tanzania or separate visas. The East Africa Tourist Visa (Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda) is separate; Tanzania requires its own visa.
🩺 Do I need vaccinations?
+
Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory if arriving from an endemic country. Hepatitis A, typhoid, and tetanus are recommended. Malaria prophylaxis is strongly advised. Consult your doctor 4–6 weeks before travel.
🩺 Is travel insurance mandatory?
+
Yes, mandatory. All clients must have comprehensive travel insurance covering medical evacuation, trip cancellation, baggage loss, and personal liability. We require proof before departure.
🩺 Is the water safe to drink?
+
We provide bottled/filtered water throughout your safari (included). Avoid tap water. In lodges, it's safe to brush teeth with tap water, but bottled is best for drinking.
